  • August 20, 2006 -- WI-EN visits Chances "R" in York and World's Largest Time Capsule in Seward, NE

  • May 26, 2006 -- Multi-city Blood Drive to benefit the American Red Cross

Well...what could have gone wrong? Let's start off with KKPR Radio having transmitter problems all week and the likelihood that that was the reason we didn't have many donors. Add to that the Kearney Hub's promise to run something "in tonight's paper" on May 25 -- after the deadline for the May 25 issue. The Grand Island Independent newspaper never called back. And NTV/Rock 101.5 did a recent Blood Drive of their own, and their parent company -- rightfully -- declined to sponsor or give airtime for another.

With a full year to prepare, I've already begun negotiating with the Kearney Chapter of the American Red Cross to have the BloodMobile available for Memorial Day Weekend, 2007.

  • March 11, 2006 -- Sheri and Michael visited the Heartland Miata Club to participate in the North Kansas City Snake Day Parade. Pictures are now here!

Construction Zone

Everybody watch your step...the website construction will be an ongoing process; and thank goodness for Dreamweaver 8! Without this marvelous piece of software, you'd be looking at a real hodgepodge of a site. My personal website is a prime example of how *not* to build HTML, even though it, too, was built with Dreamweaver. My business website is much better... The difference here is I'm experimenting with CSS and the personal website was built with straight HTML -- and my raw skills. All I can say is, "WOW! Pre-fab pages rock! " (And I hope you all like the Style Sheet I've chosen for the first iteration of the WI-EN site.)

More and more on-site links are working properly and my latest trick is to have incorporated "includes" into the website -- small files common to every page which are referenced wherever I want to use them. This allows me to update every page more accurately and provide a standardized viewing experience no matter what page you're viewing. Learning is fun!
